What About the N97?

Posted by admin on Jul 17, 2009 in Cellular, smartphone

The N97 suppose to be Nokia’s flagship and should compete with the iPhone and PRE, Is this so?
The-N97, is actually a type of hybridization between the features in the N-series (such as the flagship device N95) to the E-series (business series: E-QWERTY device- E90).
The most important features of a Smartphone are its functionalities and its size. Despite the fairly large-N97, yet this is a reasonable size for a phone with full keyboard and it feels like a reasonable mobile in hand, it’s convenient to hold and talk.
The keyboard is slipping away with a little drop-down angel of 45 degrees. The keyboard is easy to use even for users with large fingers. The SEND/END buttons are touch keys and many people might not be happy with that.

N97

N97 runs with Simbian 5 but the interface is not so good like other smart phones. The touch screen is big and has good view, resolution of 640×360  support in 16 million colors TFT technology, But the technology is not the main problem, the choice of using the resistive screen- that requires a relatively large activation click.
The camera is great (5 Mega pixels) and it is good for night shots and video too. The N97 includes 32GB built-in memory that can be extended with additional 16 GB external SD card.
The device is little bit heavy (150 gr) but the voice quality and the loudspeaker device are excellent. It includes good player device WiFi, Bluetooth and GPS that is limited to operators navigators software only.

Blu-Ray Recoreder

Posted by admin on Apr 25, 2009 in HD, TV

We like to watch High-Definition content on TV, most of us use the common DVD players and the Blu-Ray players are not so commonly used. So the BBC just publish that till today recording on Blu-Ray disks was not possible because of copyrights issues. Many companies don’t like the current situation which anyone can just make copy of their content on DVD.  The BBC channel in the UK will enable recording movies from HD channels and that move might give the Blu-Ray great push forward.

In the meantime, the price of Blu-Ray players is going down consistently and you can get one in $200 and the predictions say that next crismas you may get it in $100.

In Review: Sony Ericsson C905

Posted by admin on Feb 6, 2009 in Cameras, Cellular, GPS

Recently I found another great phone this time it’s Sony Ericsson’s phone. The best feature you can find there is the camera phone capability. I think it is one of the best cameras you can find in a phone. It has 8.1 megapixel with powerful flash.
Additional features included in this phone:

  • 3G-HSDPA (High data rate)
  • Wi-Fi
  • GPS navigation system
  • 8GB memory
  • Media player

One drawback I found is the poor battery life, so if it is important to you, consider another phone.
